A Letter from the Pastor - Revised Jan. 28, 2021

Dear Parishioners and Friends of Mary’s Nativity – St. Ann Parish,

I hope this letter finds you and yours well.

We are celebrating Masses on our regular schedule in Mary's Nativity Church and St. Ann Church  with a limited number of people (25% capacity). The front doors of St. Ann Church and the Holly Avenue doors of Mary's Nativity Church will open 15 minutes before the start of Mass.  Both churches will close after Mass has been celebrated.

Masks will be required of all who enter the church. All are advised of the requirement to wear masks, which you will bring on your own from home. No one will be allowed in church without a mask.  Face shields may be worn when accompanied with a face mask.

Our churches have been set up to follow social distancing guidelines. As you enter the church, you will be asked to sanitize your hands. Hand sanitizer should be available at the entrance of the church but parishioners are encouraged to bring their own hand sanitizer from home as well.

Once inside the church, you will see the designated areas where you can sit. These areas are marked with signage.  Please DO NOT sit in a restricted area.

There will be no procession at the beginning or end of Mass. As much as we would like to welcome and greet each one of you, we must follow our Diocesan and government guidelines.

To receive Communion, please process down the middle aisle, observing 6 feet of distance between each other and continue to wear a face covering. Communion will be received in your hand only. After you receive the Sacred Host, move to the side and pull your face covering down to immediately consume it and then bring your mask back up.

Other directives

  • The churches are open for Funerals, Baptisms and Weddings
  • There is to be no congregating of people (e.g. gathering to say the rosary together).
  • There is to be no group gatherings.
  • If you are not feeling well, please do not enter the church.
  • If you are not feeling well, please take your temperature at home and anything above 100 degrees, please stay home.
  • Please ONLY use the entrance that is permitted and clearly marked (all doors will be labelled accordingly).
  • Please note there is NO Holy Water in any of the fonts to preserve public health.
  • Please maintain social distancing (6 feet).
  • Please refrain from touching any statues or devotional objects.
  • Please adhere to all of the directives by parish staff.

The precautions we are taking seem to be a small inconvenience in comparison to the joy of being able to go to Mass and Communion! The virus, though awful, helped many grow in appreciation of God’s blessings. We all have so much to be grateful for. Let us pray for those families that have lost loved ones to the Pandemic.

The Rectory office at Mary’s Nativity is open for business from Monday - Friday, 9 am - 12 pm; and 1pm - 4 pm.  The Rectory office at St. Ann remains closed at this time.

Please remember us during this time as we have faced a reduction in our weekly collections since March.  Please consider signing up for electronic giving.
