Active Participation of our Young People in the Church Liturgy
Altar Servers assist the priest during Mass. Their duties include leading processions, holding the sacramentary for the opening and closing prayers, assisting the priest in the preparation of the bread and wine, and helping with incense. Children in grades 4 through 8 are encouraged to become Altar Servers. They serve during weekend Masses (no more than one hour per week) and Holy Days of Obligation.
